Our island was long ago christened the golden, because of the golden nature and the sunsets, the sunny sands and the thick forests, the stone screes and the karst scenery, the olive oil, wine and honey. Discover this island of ours - get to know its charms and its riches at every time of the year; cruise around its lovely and diverse settlements visit the thousand year old monuments, the museums and galleries. Take in a breath of health while walking the romantic promenades along the coast, or the wild sheep-tracks in the stony pasturelands. Revel in the magic flavours of Krk cuisine and the subtle locally produced wine. The town takes pride in its 42-year old festival, "The Krk Summer Performances", a must for art lovers. There is a permanent exhibition of sacral art in the exceptional Romanesque church of St.Quirinus.

For those who are more inclined to secular forms of entertainment, there are open air festivities, local and foreign folklore performances, "klapa" singing (male group singing without musical accompaniment), brass band parades, along with all the other events typical of the town's life.

Those fond of the fine arts will be able to see works of art of the most prominent Croatian scupltors and painters in the town's gallery "Decumanus".

The peak of summer fun and entertainment is the three-day festivity "The Krk Fair" which has taken place with longer and shorter intervals since the Middle Ages. During these days there is a wide gastronomic offer and various merchandise on sale, along with open-air entertainment for all ages and preferences.

The growing awareness of the importance of leading a healthy life, has led to the development of various sports and recreational facilities. In addition to this, year after year, financial efforts are made to expand beach capacities. Apart from natural beaches, there are also man-made beaches with various facilities to satisfy the increasing number of tourists.
